The history of Bucharest can be traced back to the 14th century when it was first mentioned in documents as a village called "Câmpulung". In the 16th century, it became the capital of Wallachia. The city grew rapidly in the 18th century, and by the end of the century it had a population of over 100,000. Bucharest became the capital of Romania in 1862. The city suffered extensive damage during World War II, but it was rebuilt and grew rapidly in the following decades. Today, Bucharest is the largest city in Romania and the 6th largest city in the European Union.

Copenhagen is the capital and most populous city of Denmark. It has a population of 1,280,371. The city stretches across the eastern coast of the island of Zealand and includes the small island of Amager to its south, as well as the uninhabited islands of Mon and Bornholm to its north. Copenhagen is connected to the rest of Denmark by a series of bridges. Copenhagen is the cultural, economic and governmental centre of Denmark. It is home to the University of Copenhagen, the Technical University of Denmark, and Copenhagen Business School.

“The desire to fly is an idea handed down to us by our ancestors who, in their grueling travels across trackless lands in prehistoric times, looked enviously on the birds soaring freely through space, at full speed, above all obstacles, on the infinite highway of the air.” – Wilbur Wright
